What is Cboard?
Cboard is a free web application for children and adults with speech and language impairments, facilitating communication with pictures and text-to-speech.
How do I register for Cboard?
To register for Cboard, begin by following the steps on the Welcome page (Figure 1). If you are a new user, press SIGN UP, and a short form will pop up asking for basic information in order to create your account (Figure 2). Once you have filled out this information, you will receive an e-mail shortly after with a link to follow in order to confirm your account, and that’s it! Once you have verified your account you will have access to Cboard, and will receive another e-mail confirming you were successfully verified.
How do I log in to Cboard?
To log in to Cboard, you follow the first step used to sign up, but instead of clicking SIGN UP on the Welcome screen, click LOGIN (Figure 3). You will then be asked to provide the e-mail you initially signed up with, and the password you set.
How much does Cboard cost?
Cboard is completely free of any charge.
What devices and OS are supported?
Cboard works on modern browsers and is available on a wide variety of platforms, including desktops, tablets and mobile phones.

How do I access settings in Cboard?
Once you log into Cboard, the HOME page will open (Figure 5). In order to access settings, double-click the small lock on the right-hand side, below the arrow. Once you have done this, a grey bar will appear below the black HOME bar, and the ‘settings’ button will appear directly to the left of the lock on the HOME bar, the second from the right (Figure 6).
How do I get started talking with Cboard?
How do I personalize an existing board in Cboard?
In order to personalize an existing board, unlock the HOME page by double clicking the lock on the right hand side. Then click on the dashboard button on the left hand side of the gray bar. (See Figure 6 for reference). Once you click select, the gray bar should turn blue, and on the right hand side you will see a small trash can and a pencil (Figure 7). In order to personalize the board, click the pencil and you will be able to change the label, upload an image, and add Vocalization (Figure 8).
Can I use my own pictures when editing a board?
Yes, you can use your own picture when editing a board. In order to use your own picture, you can upload the image when you create a new tile (by pressing the plus sign on the grey bar after unlocking the page, see Figure 6). You can also edit an existing tile with your own picture (see Figures 7 and 8).
How do I export my board in Cboard?
In order to export your board in Cboard, go to settings (see Figure 6), and as soon as you open Settings, the Export option will appear as a downward facing arrow, right below Language and Speech (Figure 9). Click on Export, and you will be able to download your Cboard by clicking on either ‘OpenBoard’ or EXPORT.
How do I import a board into Cboard?
In order to import a board, follow the steps used to Export. The Import symbol is below Export, an upward facing arrow with a horizontal bar below it (See figure 9).

To print your board, press the printer logo on the left hand side of the black HOME bar, after having unlocked the HOME page (see Figure 6).
